As part of SPNI’s revamped leadership structure, Makarand Palekar has been elevated to Head – Linear Distribution at Sony Pictures Networks India.
Palekar joined SPNI in 2010, bringing with him deep expertise in television sales and distribution. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President – Sales and Affiliate Relations at TheOneAlliance, the distribution joint venture between Multi Screen Media (MSM) and Discovery Communications.
Earlier in his career, Palekar was associated with ESPN-STAR Sports, where he was part of the network’s start-up team and headed sales operations, playing a pivotal role in building the business. By the time he transitioned to TheOneAlliance, he had accumulated nearly 13 years of experience across TV sales and distribution, establishing himself as a seasoned professional in affiliate management and revenue growth.
