Shiva Krishnamurthy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of General Mills India. He brings with him 25 years of experience at Unilever and most recently held the position of Executive Director, Foods & Refreshment, at Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL).
Krishnamurthy announced his new role on LinkedIn, writing, “I’m excited to be part of General Mills’ mission of ‘Making food the world loves,’ working with iconic brands, advanced food science, and talented people. Backed by a culture that encourages learning, growth, and a sense of belonging, we are well positioned to unlock the India opportunity. I look forward to building on the strong foundation created by those who came before me.”
Krishnamurthy joined HUL in 2000 and, over a career of more than two decades, developed deep expertise in marketing. He began his career at HUL as an Area Sales Manager for Detergents in West Bengal, a role he held for close to four years. He then progressed through multiple senior leadership roles and, in 2015, was appointed Vice President, Foods and Beverages, South Asia, a position he held for over nine years.
