Rohit Talwar Joins JSW Paints as Chief Marketing Officer

Rohit Talwar, who recently stepped down as Vice President and Head of Marketing for Castrol India and South Asia, has joined JSW Paints as its new Chief Marketing Officer.

In his new role, Talwar will report to Ashish Rai, CEO of Decorative Paints, who in turn reports to Parth Jindal, strengthening the leadership framework of the company’s decorative paints business.

Talwar’s move comes after close to two decades with Castrol. Over the years, he rose steadily through the ranks, taking on diverse assignments across sales, brand management, and sponsorship activation. He played an instrumental role in driving the cricket sponsorship portfolio for Castrol and later as Global Brand Manager for Commercial Vehicles, he helped launch Castrol VECTON, a product that went on to gain global recognition.

Talwar held several leadership roles including Head of Brand and Communication and Deputy Vice President of Marketing. In 2019, he moved overseas to lead marketing operations for Castrol Vietnam, where he spearheaded both B2C and B2B initiatives, delivering strong business growth and expanding the brand’s footprint in the region. In November 2023, he returned to India to take charge as Vice President and Head of Marketing for Castrol India and South Asia, succeeding Jaya Jamrani in the role. His resignation was formally accepted at a Castrol India board meeting on June 10, 2025, with his last working day being August 8, 2025.

During his most recent tenure at Castrol India, Talwar was widely recognized for his leadership in brand building and marketing innovation. Earlier this year, in March 2025, he was honoured with the CMO Leadership Award at the Pitch CMO Summit in Mumbai, a recognition of his contribution to strengthening Castrol’s presence in a highly competitive market. Talwar was also named among the Top 100 Marketers of India at The Festival of Marketing organised by BW Businessworld.
