Richard Morris, Chief Executive for the UK and EMEA at IPG Mediabrands, is set to leave the newly merged Omnicom–IPG entity, according to UK media reports. His departure comes as the advertising giant continues to consolidate leadership and restructure operations following Omnicom’s acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG).The integration has already triggered a wave of reshuffles. Just last week, it was reported that Eileen Kiernan, Global CEO of IPG Mediabrands, will step down next year a change referenced in an internal memo cited by Adweek. Her exit marked the early signs of a sweeping realignment within the merged organisation.
Morris, who led Mediabrands’ strategy across UM, Initiative, and Mediahub and supervised integrated media services across the EMEA region, now becomes the latest senior executive to move on. His departure reflects the broader post-acquisition goal: unifying agency structures, trimming overlaps, and streamlining capabilities as Omnicom builds what is now one of Europe’s largest media organisations.
A successor for Morris has not yet been named, and industry watchers say more leadership changes may follow as the combined network continues to evolve its operating model.Adding to today’s developments, exchange4media also reported that Shailja Verghese, Chief Content Officer at Omnicom Media Group India, has stepped down another shift aligned with the organisation-wide restructuring triggered by the merger.
With the integration formalised in late 2025, Omnicom’s absorption of IPG is reshaping the global advertising ecosystem, and the ripple effects within senior leadership circles are only just beginning to surface.
