Punit Misra, the President – Content and International Markets at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), has moved on from the company, reliable sources have told exchange4media.

Misra was in charge of content for both the TV network of ZEE as well as its digital offering ZEE5, both domestically and globally. He also managed ZEEL’s international business spanning 190 countries. He joined ZEEL as the CEO of its domestic broadcast business from Hindustan Unilever Limited where he worked for over two decades.

Misra also serves as the Chair of FICCI Broadcast Forum and Co-Chair of the CII Broadcast Committee. He is also on the Board of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), the industry body for broadcasters.

Last month, Rahul Johri who led ZEE's revenue and monetization vertical moved on from the media company after a three-year stint.

There have been reports of MD and CEO Punit Goenka taking a 20% pay cut amid news of ZEE cutting down its Bangalore tech workforce by 50% as part of its cost-optimisation move.
