Publicis Media to handle Spotify’s media account

Spotify has awarded its global media account to Publicis Media, according to media reports. The Publicis Groupe has created a bespoke unit called Publicis OneVibe for the Spotify business. The global account is said to be worth $240 million. The incumbent is IPG Mediabrands' UM. UM handled Spotify’s account for seven years.

The global review was kicked off in 2023.

One of the media reports quoted Marc Hazan, vice president of marketing and partnerships at Spotify, as saying, “As Spotify’s business and ambitions evolve, embracing change is key to our creative edge, as is doing everything we can to connect with an ever-expanding global audience of more than 602 million users in more than 180 markets. We look forward to a new chapter of brand media and performance marketing excellence with Publicis OneVibe.”

Accordig to media reports, India was not part of the global pitch. However, after, the global review, Publicis Media will handle the account in India too. Spotify's media spends in India are reportedly close to Rs 100 crore. The streaming platform's creative duties in India are handled by Publicis Groupe- owned Leo Burnett.

Spotify has completed five years in India.
