Nachiket Pantvaidya appointed to lead SET, Sony Marathi and Movie Production at SPNI

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a leadership realignment under its refreshed operating model. As part of this transition, Nachiket Pantvaidya will now lead Sony Entertainment Television (SET), Sony Marathi and Movie Production.

With a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades across leading media conglomerates, Pantvaidya earlier headed SPNI’s flagship general entertainment channel, Sony Entertainment Television (SET). This appointment marks his third stint with Sony Pictures Networks India.

In his earlier role, Nachiket was responsible for driving the overall business of SET, with a strong focus on accelerating growth, enhancing viewership, and creating innovative content and revenue opportunities. During his previous tenures with the network, he played a pivotal role in reinventing and monetising marquee properties such as Indian Idol, Kaun Banega Crorepati and the Filmfare Awards—often referred to as the Indian Oscars—which continue to enjoy widespread industry recognition.

Prior to rejoining SPNI, Nachiket served as CEO of Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures (SETVI), Group CEO of Balaji Telefilms, and Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television. His earlier experience also includes serving as Business Head of Star Plus, holding multiple leadership roles within the Star TV network including Head of Star Pravah, and serving as Managing Director of Fox Television Studios. He has additionally held key management positions at BBC and Disney.
