Kingfisher Premium Packaged Drinking Water, from United Breweries Limited (part of the HEINEKEN Company), has partnered with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the Official Good Times Partner of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.The partnership comes as the WPL continues to establish itself as a major fixture in India’s sporting calendar. Since its launch, the league has recorded steady growth in viewership, rising from 124 million viewers in 2023 to 233 million in 2025. Increased interest in women’s cricket, further driven by India’s recent Women’s World Cup win, has strengthened the league’s national profile and fan following.
The upcoming season will feature five teams competing across 22 matches, scheduled within a 30-day window. The compact format is expected to maintain the fast-paced nature of the tournament and retain nationwide viewer engagement. Vikram Bahl, Chief Marketing Officer, United Breweries Limited, said the association reflects the brand’s interest in being connected to moments that bring people together through sport. He noted that the WPL has become a platform that draws large audiences and inspires fans across the country, making it a relevant property for the brand to support.
A BCCI spokesperson welcomed the partnership, stating that Kingfisher Premium Packaged Drinking Water’s involvement adds another layer of commercial support to the league. The spokesperson highlighted that such partnerships help strengthen fan engagement and support the continued growth and visibility of women’s cricket in India.As part of the collaboration, Kingfisher will be visible across digital campaigns, social media content, consumer contests, and retail outlet promotions, along with on-ground fan engagement activities at WPL venues. The brand will also participate in various activities designed to bring supporters closer to the league experience.
