ICICI Bank reappoints Sandeep Bakhshi as MD & CEO and extends Ajay Kumar Gupta’s tenure

The ICICI Bank Board has approved the re-appointment of Sandeep Bakhshi as Managing Director and CEO for an additional two-year term, effective from 4 October 2026 to 3 October 2028. His current tenure is set to conclude on 3 October 2026, according to regulatory filings.
In addition, Ajay Kumar Gupta’s term as Executive Director has been extended for two years, from 27 November 2026 to 26 November 2028, following the completion of his current term on 26 November 2026.
Bakhshi has been serving as ICICI Bank’s MD and CEO since 15 October 2018. Prior to this, he held the positions of Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer. With over 30 years at the ICICI Group, he has occupied key roles across ICICI Limited, ICICI Lombard General Insurance, ICICI Bank, and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.
