Havas has announced the acquisition of Kaimera, an independent media agency known for cutting through media complexity and crafting highly tailored, performance-led solutions for brands. The move significantly strengthens Havas Media Network’s footprint in Australia and New Zealand, adding both scale and specialist expertise while advancing the group’s rollout of its Converged.AI strategy Havas’ data-powered, AI-driven operating system designed to integrate media, creativity and technology.Founded in 2016, Kaimera has grown into a team of more than 50 professionals across offices in Sydney and Melbourne, with additional talent based in Auckland. The agency services a diverse client roster including Nando’s, Scape, IMB Bank, Afterpay and BritBox. Following the acquisition, Kaimera will operate within Havas Media Network as “Kaimera, a Havas Company.”
The leadership team, led by founders Nick Behr and Trent McMillan, will continue to run the business, reporting to James Wright, Group CEO of Havas ANZ. The agency will remain in its current locations in Surry Hills, Sydney, and South Melbourne, Melbourne. With the addition of Kaimera, Havas ANZ’s local workforce now exceeds 450 employees, underscoring its expansion ambitions in the region.The acquisition comes shortly after Havas ANZ introduced its new brand positioning, “Deliberately Different,” which reflects the group’s integrated “Village” model blending the entrepreneurial energy of independent agencies with the global scale and resources of the Havas network.
Yannick Bolloré, Chairman and CEO, Havas, said the deal reinforces the company’s commitment to the ANZ market. Nick Behr, CEO and Founder of Kaimera, called the partnership a “natural next step” for the agency’s future. He said joining Havas provides access to greater scale, investment, tools and advanced AI capabilities while preserving Kaimera’s independent culture and client-focused approach. The combined strengths, he added, will position the agency to drive meaningful growth for brands across ANZ and beyond.
