The Walt Disney Company has announced the formation of a new enterprise-wide marketing and brand organisation aimed at more closely aligning its industry-leading marketing teams across businesses and strengthening how Disney engages with consumers globally. Asad Ayaz has been appointed Chief Marketing and Brand Officer and will lead the newly created organisation.

Ayaz steps into the role after eight years as President of Marketing at The Walt Disney Studios, during which he also led marketing for Disney+. Since 2023, he has served as Disney’s Chief Brand Officer, overseeing company-wide brand strategy, alliances and events, and stewarding the company’s iconic brands and franchises worldwide.

In his new position, Ayaz will report to Disney CEO Bob Iger as Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, while also working with segment chairs to lead marketing efforts across the company’s various business units.

The enterprise marketing organisation will bring together the collective strengths of Disney’s marketing teams to enable a more connected approach to audience engagement, elevate campaigns, and support the business objectives of individual segments as well as the company overall.

“Over more than two decades at the company – and as Disney’s first-ever Chief Brand Officer – Asad has helped bring the magic of Disney to life for millions through his exceptional leadership,” said Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company. “As our businesses have evolved, it’s clear we need a company-wide role that ensures brand consistency and allows consumers to seamlessly interact with our products and experiences. This role is critical for this moment, and Asad is the ideal choice.”

In a joint statement, Disney Entertainment Co-Chairs Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro, and ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro said Ayaz is “an exceptional creative leader with strong strategic and operational capabilities and deep experience across Disney’s brands,” adding that they look forward to strengthening Disney’s connection with audiences worldwide.

The unified marketing organisation will build on Ayaz’s leadership by linking shared capabilities and modern marketing tools across the company, enhancing continuity and agility, and further innovating how Disney engages consumers at an enterprise level.
