Anamika Mehta exits IPG Mediabrands India amid Omnicom-led restructuring

IPG Mediabrands’ Chief Growth Officer for India, Anamika Mehta, has departed the company amid ongoing restructuring following Omnicom Group’s acquisition of the Interpublic Group, sources familiar with the matter told exchange4media. She left the organisation earlier this month, and her next professional move has not been confirmed.

Mehta is the first senior leader in India to exit IPG post-Omnicom acquisition, marking the departure of one of the most senior and long-tenured executives within the IPG network in India. exchange4media reached out to Mehta and Omnicom Group for comments, but responses were pending at the time of reporting.

Widely recognised as a key figure in the group’s leadership, Mehta was once considered second only to Shashi Sinha in the organisational hierarchy. Earlier reports noted that Sinha, who had led IPG Mediabrands since its inception, has now been given an advisory role within Omnicom Media.

An IPG veteran, Mehta spent three decades with the group, beginning at Lintas before moving to UM Lodestar and Initiative. She held leadership roles including CEO of Initiative and Chief Operating Officer at Lodestar, and has been with Mediabrands since its formal entry into India in 2012, playing a crucial role in building and scaling its media operations.

exchange4media had reported on December 11 that Eileen Kiernan, Global CEO of IPG Mediabrands, had stepped down. Shortly after, Richard Morris, Chief Executive for the UK and EMEA at IPG Mediabrands, also departed, signalling the start of a broader leadership reshuffle as the integration with Omnicom progresses.
