The trio of Inshorts - Azhar Iqubal, Deepit Purkayastha and Anunay Pandey - have been awarded the e4m Influencer of the Year 2023 award. The dazzling awards night was held today, December 11, in Gurugram on the sidelines of the e4m MarTech India Conference.
Deepit Purkayastha expressed immense gratitude and joy upon receiving the prestigious e4m Influencer of the Year 2023 award. He extended credit to everyone who contributed to the success, expressing his heartfelt appreciation. "I t feels great and also very humbling. It's a validation of the story, brand, and whatever we built. We are standing on the shoulders of giants, and we are doing it with the help of our team members, so credit to everyone and gratitude that the jury deemed us as the right winners for this year's award".
The e4m Influencer of the Year title honours visionaries who have transformed the industry and inspired the next level of growth while progressively using innovative technology. The seventh edition of the awards was graced by top industry leaders, and heads and experts from the advertising and media world.
News app Inshorts was founded in April 2013 by Azhar Iqubal, Anunay Arunav Pandey, and Deepit Purkayastha . The main aim of the app is to deliver concise news to readers in a time-efficient manner. The idea behind the app is to simplify the news content into 60-word summaries that are easy and accessible to mobile-savvy audience.
Azhar Iqubal, the Co-founder & Chairman of Inshorts, led the company for 11 years as CEO before deciding to step into the role of the Chairman in April 2024. Anunay Arunav Pandey, a key figure in the digital media landscape, is the Co-founder, while Deepit Purkayastha is the Co-Founder and CEO.
Last year, the e4m Influencer of the Year 2022 award was given to Prasanth Kumar , GroupM CEO of South Asia. Over the years, several industry experts have bagged the honour.
While in 2016, Raj Nayak, then COO of Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd, was conferred the award, in 2017 the honour went to CVL Srinivas, Country Manager, WPP India, and CEO of GroupM South Asia.
