The Hindu Group appoints Sundar Kondur as Chief Revenue Officer

The Hindu Group Publishing Pvt Ltd. has named Sundar Kondur as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), marking a strategic strengthening of its commercial leadership. In this role, Kondur will be responsible for driving revenue growth, shaping monetisation strategies and expanding business opportunities across the group’s media assets.

Kondur brings extensive experience in revenue management, audience growth and business development from his work with leading media and digital companies. His expertise includes building scalable revenue models, forging agency and client partnerships, and integrating digital and traditional monetisation approaches — capabilities that are expected to support The Hindu Group in navigating a rapidly evolving media marketplace.

As CRO, he will focus on enhancing the organisation’s overall commercial performance by aligning sales, marketing and content teams to capture new opportunities in advertising, subscriptions and strategic alliances. Kondur’s leadership is also expected to further strengthen relationships with brands, agencies and key stakeholders while exploring innovative avenues for monetising content in both print and digital domains.

The appointment comes at a time when publishers are increasingly seeking to diversify their revenue streams and adapt to changing consumption patterns. With Kondur at the helm of revenue strategy, Kasturi & Sons aims to accelerate business growth while maintaining editorial quality and audience trust.

Prior to joining The Hindu Group, Kondur spent more than nine years with Bennett Coleman & Co., and held several leadership roles at the organisation.

Previously, Kondur has worked with Kasturi & Sons, the publishing company behind The Hindu Group as Vice President – Advertising Sales from May 2015 to November 2016. In this role, he headed the National Sales for The Hindu. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Mid Day.
