Veteran TV journalist returns to channel leadership with a dual editorial and executive role

Rana Yashwant Takes Charge as CEO and Editor-in-Chief of News India

Senior television journalist and news anchor Rana Yashwant has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Hindi news channel News India. He confirmed the development in a conversation with Samachar 4Media, marking his return to a top editorial role in broadcast news.Earlier this year, in March, Yashwant ended his long association with ITV Network and moved to Live Times, where he launched a weekly show titled Facts and Figures. During his stint there, he remained sharply visible on digital platforms, with his YouTube channel building a following of around 3.5 lakh subscribers. Several of his ground reports during the recent Bihar election coverage also drew significant attention online.

Before joining Live Times, Yashwant had spent over a decade with ITV Network, beginning in 2013. He went on to become Editor-in-Chief of India News, the network’s Hindi news channel, where he also anchored the long-running show Ardh Satya. In November 2023, he was elevated to the Editor-in-Chief role after previously serving as Managing Editor.With decades of experience in television journalism, Yashwant has held senior editorial positions at major news organisations including Aaj Tak, Zee News and Mahuaa TV, shaping political and investigative coverage across platforms.

His work has been recognised with multiple industry honours. Ardh Satya received both the Red Ink Award and the ENBA Award, while Yashwant himself has been conferred distinctions such as the Bharat Gaurav Samman, Rex Karmaveer Global Fellowship and Award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award for his contribution to Hindi journalism.
