Is Bodhisatva Ganguli likely to move on from ET?

Has Bodhisatva Ganguli, who had taken up an advisory role at The Economic Times, moved on from the organisation? According to industry hearsay and buzz within the organization, speculations are rife that he has stepped down.

When e4m reached out to Ganguli, he denied the rumour and said, “I am not resigning”. The CEO and Executive Director of BCCL,Sivakumar Sundaramalso was not responsive at the time of filing this copy.Is there a possibility of Ganguli shifting to another role within the company or is he completely moving out of ET?

Ganguli has been working with the paper since February 1999 and this exit will mean an end to almost 25 years of a glorious run at The Economic Times. He has been instrumental in building the credibility, authenticity and trust within the publication.

Before his advisory role at The Economic Times,he was The Executive Editor of ET for about a decade.

He was Head of the Corporate Bureau in Mumbai in the early 2000s and then became the Edit-Page Editor. According to media reports, in 2008 he returned to news when he was appointed Resident Editor (head) of the Mumbai edition.

Before joining ET, Ganguli worked inBusiness Indiamagazine from July 1991 to February 1999.

Ganguli is an Economics graduate from Presidency College, Kolkata and a postgraduate from Delhi School of Economics.

Earlier in September 2023, e4m reported thatBodhisatva Ganguliwould step back from the operational and administrative responsibilities at the organisation to assume a more strategic role as a Mentor and Guide to ET’s leadership team. Sruthijith K K had taken up Ganguli’s role as Executive Editor of ET.

While Shishir Prasad is the Editor at ET Prime,Javed Sayed, Associate Executive Editor of The Economic Times, moved out in July last year.
