Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. L. Murugan, unveiled the Government of India Calendar for 2026, presenting it as more than a schedule of dates — a symbolic reflection of the nation’s journey of transformation and public-centric governance.
The theme for the calendar is “Bharat@2026: Sewa, Sushasan and Samriddhi”, which translates to Service, Good Governance and Inclusive Prosperity. It portrays a vision of India that is confident in its identity, focused on strengthening institutions and committed to long-term growth for all.
According to the minister, the calendar highlights major reforms and strategic initiatives implemented in 2025 that contributed to economic resilience and broader social benefits. These include measures aimed at simplifying tax structures, rationalising goods and services tax processes, implementing labour code reforms and driving employment generation — all intended to improve ease of living and foster inclusive growth.
The publication features twelve thematic visuals for each month, each representing a key aspect of the country’s progress. These monthly themes range from self-reliance and empowerment of women to strengthening rural prosperity and acknowledging the role of youth and infrastructure development. A collective focus on dignity, heritage, and India’s emerging global role is woven throughout the calendar.
In his remarks, the Information and Broadcasting Secretary emphasised that the Government of India’s calendar has evolved into an important communication tool that reflects the nation’s priorities and values, capturing the essence of policy focus and people-oriented reforms.
