Arugn tech secures government approval to acquire Planetcast Stake from AIONS

Arugn Tech has received regulatory approval from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) to acquire the stake held by AIONS in Planetcast Media Services, a key move in consolidating ownership of the broadcast and media services provider. This clearance clears a major compliance milestone in the transaction, enabling Arugn Tech to proceed with the full acquisition.

The deal positions Arugn Tech to streamline control over Planetcast’s operations, which encompass signal distribution, broadcast infrastructure and content delivery services across television and digital platforms. By absorbing the share previously held by AIONS — a company backed by Apollo Global Management — Arugn strengthens its operational command and strategic direction within media infrastructure services.

Leadership at Arugn Tech has indicated that the acquisition is aligned with long-term plans to expand service capabilities, innovate offerings and capitalise on the growing demand for broadcast and digital delivery solutions. Full ownership of Planetcast will allow more agile decision-making and integrated planning to support clients across the media ecosystem.

The regulatory clearance also reflects ongoing industry shifts, with private investors and technology firms investing in content-agnostic platforms that deliver transmission, playout and distribution services to broadcasters, OTT players and corporate media users.

Looking ahead, Arugn Tech is expected to invest in technical upgrades, service expansion and customer experience enhancements, leveraging Planetcast’s established infrastructure to support evolving content-delivery needs in an increasingly competitive digital media environment.
