Balaji is confident of a great showing by Dhoni and co. in the upcoming VIVO IPL 2018 and believes CSK can script a magical chapter in team's glorious IPL history this season. L. Badrinath were on the panel of Star Sports special show Game Plan in Your City, which was shot in Chennai. Speaking on the sidelines of the event in Chennai, Lakshmipathy Balaji, bowling coach – Chennai Super Kings said, “It gives me immense joy to see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) making a comeback in VIVO IPL 2018 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. His captaincy prowess when combined the capabilities of players like Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir, Shane Watson, Murali Vijay, Mark Wood, and Harbhajan Singh will help Chennai Super Kings to script another magical chapter in the team’s glorious IPL history”. Even while the team was not part of IPL in the last two years, the fans have constantly backed the team and with an initiative like Game Plan In Your City, we seek to enable our fans to come a step closer to their heroes in real life.” The Chennai leg of Game Plan in Your City was held in Don Bosco School, Egmore. Young supporters from the school also got an opportunity to interact with their favorite stars at the event along with a chance of a lifetime to get captured on film with their heroes.
