Amidst a grand gathering to celebrate the finest and trend-setting work in the marketing arena, Indian Marketing Awards 2014 – presented by Hindustan Times and powered by Colors – honoured the best marketers and marketing campaigns of the year.

Here is what the winners had to say after winning the most prestigious award in the fraternity:

Sanjeev Handa, GM, Marketing & Product Planning Maruti Suzuki India, accepted the award on behalf of RC Bhargava for winning the Lifetime Achievement Award: “It is a great honor for me for having got the opportunity to receive this award on behalf of Mr. Bhargava. A stalwart in the industry, not just in the automobile industry, but in the industry at large, and Indian Marketing Awards honoring Mr. Bhargava for Lifetime achievement, I think there could not have been anyone more apt than him for this award.”

Sashi Shankar, CMO, Idea Cellular: “I am grateful to the jury that they found me fit enough to be awarded the CMO of the year award. I think the whole credit for this goes to the Idea team. Not only the 12,500 employees that we have, but also the team at Lowe (our advertising agency), Mindshare (our media agency), Law and Kenneth (our digital advertising agency), and all our channel partners who actually toiled day in and day out to make this brand what it is today. It is truly remarkable what we have been able to achieve over the past years, and this award is truly dedicated to them. I am privileged to be part of this team, and thankful for getting this award.”

Sandeep Aurora, Director, Marketing and Market Development at Intel: “At the time when we were planning to launch a bunch of new products this year, we wanted to convey to our consumers, in a smart way, what they can expect when they begin anything new. Hence, this theme #timefornew. We are very happy to get the recognition for this campaign.”

Jyoti Bansal, Managing Director, PHD India: “It has been a very different experience from the regular media and creative agency awards that are usually held. It is interesting to see the different kinds of work that is being done in the marketing fraternity, beyond the regular categories that keep winning at these kind of award ceremonies. I think it is a great initiative, and it will push us to put our best work forward. We are delighted to having won multiple awards for the Kan Khajura Tesan campaign, and I think this one is extra special because it is a marketing award and not just a media and creative award. That says a lot more about the effort and thought that we have put into creating this campaign.”
