Fiat India Automobiles appointed Gurpratap Boparai as the new CEO of the company. Boparai succeeds Rajeev Kapoor, who has been in charge of the company as the President and CEO and is set to retire on the completion of 60 years of age.
Boparai joined Fiat India in 2007 as Assistant Vice President, Manufacturing and Powertrain Division and was promoted as the Head of the same division in 2009. His responsibilities in that role included business development and overlooking all the functions of Power Train plants like manufacturing, Finance, HR, PE and others.
In his new role he will be responsible to scale up the state-of-the-art Ranjangaon facility to further heights under his leadership.
Boparai comes with over 20 years of experience in the automobile sector. He has previously worked with companies such as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Limited, Ocap Chassis Parts Private Limited, Iveco and Tata Cummins Limited.
