Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India,has been appointed as Chairman of CII Office Automation & Imaging Industry Division. CII’s OA & Imaging Division comprises of members from IT peripherals, office automation, digital printing & finishing and digital photography industries.
On his appointment, Bharadwaj, was quoted as saying in a press statement, “In the current stage of India’s growth, office automation and imaging products are going to play a vital role in speed, productivity and cost competitiveness.â€
According to Bharadwaj, the rapid up-gradation in technology on one hand and wide spread adoption across the nation on the other hand, are making this industry quite sizable valued at over Rs 5,000 crore and is growing at over 15 per cent per annum. â€œAround one third of the consumption is for government projects. The industry-government collaboration is the key and I am happy to lead the role for its enhancement,â€ he added.
As a part of the growth plan for the industry, at large, Bharadwaj’s focus would be at enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities for industry, through a range of specialised services and global linkages.
Led by Bharadwaj, the industry would address national agenda for all of the industry players, to help bring higher level of growth in the industry, thereby, facilitating and crystalising common industry agenda.
