Zoozoo, the character that’s on a mission to promote Vodafone, usually gets disruptive during the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, this year, it’s trying to make news nearly three months ahead of cricket tourney. Zoozoo now has an entire comic series – The Adventures of Zoozoo – around him.
The online series conceptualised and created by OgilvyOne Worldwide, will be available on the character’s Facebook page – facebook.com/Zoozoo, where “where crocodiles invade picnics and superheroes don’t need secret identities.â€
While the Zoozoo was introduced during the IPL’s 2nd season in 2009 to talk about Vodafone’s value added services, the Super Zoozoo made his debut last year to promote the brand’s 3G services. In the 3G commercials, he was portrayed as a superhero with powers similar to popular cultural icons a la Superman.
Commenting on the launch of the online adventure series, Anuradha Aggarwal, Vice President, Brand Communication and Insights, Vodafone India, said, “We have seen that our fans constantly demand new Zoozoo material and a comic series was the most natural extension of the Zoozoos. So far, fans only knew Zoozoos through short ads or through content on our Facebook page.â€
She feels that the comics would be a great way for online users “to get to know the Zoozoo world in all its quirky sweetness.â€
Going ahead, Vodafone would introduce never before seen Zoozoo characters. As a part of an activation readers would be encouraged to contribute their ideas to take the series ahead.
